New article group XS

We at Subke have decided to add another article group. This allows us to group many different items even better in our fulfillment.

Our article groups at Subke

Previously, we had 3 article groups for the calculation of goods receipt, picking and goods issue. We have subdivided these article groups into S, M and L.

We want to categorize items according to specific groups that differ in terms of size and weight.

Why are we doing this?

While some competitors calculate the cost of items based on their weight, we want to make this clearer by dividing them into item groups.

For example, we have an article group S for small articles. These include smartphones, books and decorative items, for example. Here we have a max. weight of 5 kg and a maximum belt size of 150 cm.

It goes without saying that small and lightweight items are easier to handle in fulfillment than large items.

The middle article group M includes products such as shoe boxes, clothes, suitcases and toys. Here we have a max. Weight of 10 kg and a max. Girth dimension of 200 cm defined.

For large items, we have defined our item group L, which is intended for furniture, car parts or sports equipment, for example. Here we have a max. Weight of 18 kg and a max. Belt size defined as 360 cm.

Products over 1.20 m or 18 kg are treated as bulky goods and are subject to a surcharge.

The new article group XS

For some time now, we have had products in our fulfillment that are very small. These include SIM cards, postcards, magazines and USB sticks, for example.

These products can often be sent cheaply as large letters, maxi letters or merchandise mail.

We have introduced the new XS article group because they are clearly different in terms of effort and cost structure.

How are articles assigned to article groups at Subke?

We decide on the basis of the weights and belt dimensions mentioned. Because the larger and heavier an item is, the more unwieldy and time-consuming it is to pick and pack.

However, some retailers now have different products. Then we do not start from average quantities, but from the largest product or a firmly defined bundle, whereby we are guided by manageability when picking and packing.

Picking these items must also be economically viable. In addition, the percentage distribution of products sold can change at any time.

If at the beginning perhaps 70 % small items and 30 % large items were sold, after a short time the items may be sold in equal parts.

Once we have made an offer for an article group and it is accepted by the retailer, we will stand by our stated prices for at least one year..

A solid calculation is therefore essential to ensure transparent business relationships, because at Subke we always strive to work in partnership with our dealers.

You can find an overview of our article groups and a price list on our website under Fulfillment costs.

If you have a special case or prefer a different calculation, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always open for a chat!

Overview of the article groups at Subke:

  1. Article group XS: Up to 1 kg and maximum dimensions Warenpost.
  2. Article group S: maximum weight of 5 kg and a maximum girth of 150 cm.
  3. Article group M: Maximum weight of 10 kg and a belt size of 200 cm.
  4. Article group L: Maximum weight of 18 kg and a belt size of 360 cm.

Conclusion: The new article group XS distinguishes the articles even more precisely, especially for small articles, and enables better calculation for online retailers.
