Questions and answers about the postcard
What are letter cards?
Postcards that are placed in an envelope are called letter cards.
Are stamped postcards already available?
Yes, the so-called Plus cards in DIN C6 format are already franked at €0.70.
What does the grammage of a postcard mean?
The grammage of a postcard refers to the mass per unit area, usually expressed in grams per square metre (g/m²).
It indicates how much weight the paper has per square metre. The higher the grammage, the thicker and heavier the postcard usually is.
In Germany, the minimum grammage of a postcard is 150 g/m². This means that a postcard must weigh at least 150 grams per square metre in order to be sent as a standard letter.
